Toby Keith, a country music artist, shared on Sunday that he has begun treatment for stomach cancer after being diagnosed with the disease in the autumn of 2021.
During the last six months, the multi-platinum-selling artist has been receiving chemo treatments and radiations and has undergone a surgery.
Last autumn, I found out I had stomach cancer,” the famous singer, who is 60 years old, shared on social media. “For the past half year, I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Everything is going well up to now. I just need some time to rest, heal, and unwind.”
Toby Keith was supposed to perform at the BBQ festival on Friday, but unfortunately, his performance got canceled. The Ribfest’s website mentioned that they are currently looking for someone else to join Elle King on Friday, June 17. Information about refund requests will be provided later.
The musician mentioned that he is excited to spend time with his family, but he will also be seeing his fans soon.
Several country singers, including Keith’s peers, sent their good wishes and prayers.

Elaine Schock, Keith’s publicist, mentioned in an email on Sunday night that a few tour dates will be canceled, but the exact number is still uncertain.
