Back To The Future is often brought up when people are asked to name a well-known movie from the 1980s. This film is a timeless classic and still has fans to this day.
The recent gathering of the main actors in the movie created a worldwide buzz, especially because the main character, played by Michael J. Fox, has been coping with a long-term illness for many years.
Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Tom Wilson, and Michael J. Fox were all involved in the famous Back to the Future movie series at some point. Even after almost 40 years since the first film was released, there are still fans who can’t get enough of it.
The reason for inviting the cast was to attend the FanExpo event. They gathered once more to remember their time performing on stage.
Michael J Fox has openly admitted to facing difficulties with his broken bones, which is truly disheartening. Lea Thompson, the actress who played Marty McFly’s mother in the first two films, took to Instagram to share the wonderful moments of their reunion. She uploaded pictures and videos capturing the occasion and expressed her thoughts through a heartfelt message.
She posted, “Had an amazing time today with my #bttf family,” and tagged the actors and some friends. Also mentioned fun fan moments and a llama.
Fox and Lloyd met up again at the New York Comic-Con in October 2022, and this time more cast members joined them. The cast shared some interesting details about when they filmed the series, revealing new information for viewers.
It was confirmed that Michael J. Fox replaced Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly after filming for the movie had already begun.
Christopher Lloyd, who is 84 years old, recently shared that he wasn’t particularly thrilled about the casting change. He mentioned that the news came late at night, after six weeks of shooting, that the actor portraying Marty would be replaced by Michael starting the next day.
He said, “I thought I barely survived the [initial] six weeks and now I had to go through it all over again… There was instant chemistry, as people say.”
The deep connection between the two men is truly heartwarming and authentic, confirming our existing beliefs. Their lasting friendship is incredibly moving and has the power to evoke emotions.
Fox had a fantastic time from the beginning. The actor said, “I just took it all in and let it consume me. I thought he was extraordinary. That’s what it was all about,” the 61-year-old actor said. “Stick with Chris and let him be himself, and enjoy it… It was thrilling. Every time I got to work with him, I knew it would be an amazing day.”
Over the years, Fox has spoken fondly of his co-star Christopher Lloyd. In an earlier conversation, he revealed how the two of them had gotten close. He shared:
“Chris is a great guy. He’s very enigmatic,” he told the outlet. “It took me a few films to get to know him. In ‘Back to the Future Part III’ we connected in a way we hadn’t on the other films. I came to see how much he loved acting. I never got that before. To sit down and talk about acting and talk about Shakespeare and ‘King Lear’… This guy can play King Lear! People don’t expect that of him. He’s full of surprises.”
He has also praised Lloyd as an actor, saying, “He can tell a movie’s worth of story in two seconds and you get it. Us regular actors have to lay out hours and hours to get the information out.” Adding, “Chris is brilliant at it. His love of film and his love of being an actor… He’s not just a crazy guy, he’s an artist.”
Also, the actor shared some private details. He described how the ensemble had supported him after being given a Parkinson’s diagnosis.Fox said, “Parkinson’s is the gift that keeps on taking. But it’s a gift, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.” Adding, “People like Chris have been there a lot for me, and so many of you have. It’s not about what I have, it’s about what I’ve been given: the voice to get this done, and help people out.”
